Welcome to the Blackheath & Greenwich Group of Amnesty International. We’re one of almost 300 local groups that operate in the UK and contribute to Amnesty International’s work to defend human rights around the world. We are a friendly and energetic group of local people that: Raise local awareness about human rights, rganise events and stalls, fundraise, and campaign with letterwriting and lobbying. We also host two book sales a year in June and November.
Our group meetings are usually held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at St Margarets Church in Lee. We don’t have a meeting in June as we are preparing for the book sale.
We also have letter signing drop-in session at the Greenwich Tavern at 7.30pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month. Often the December session will not occur due to proximity with the festive season.
Both group meeting locations are wheelchair accessible, have car parking available locally and good public transport links. The Picturehouse letter writing is on the first floor but the venue has a lift.
