Raif Badawi, a Saudi Arabian blogger and editor, faces 50 lashes this Friday – simply for supporting free speech. Therefore Amnesty UK are holding a vigil on Thrusday to free him.
Location: Curzon Street – back entrance to the Saudi Arabian Embassy, London W1J 5DZ
Raif is imprisoned for a decade and being dealt a tortuous punishment of 1,000 lashes in public as punishment for running the website ‘Saudi Arabian Liberals’.
We are calling on the Saudi authorities to free Raif immediately, as he is a prisoner of conscience.
