Every year as the nights draw in local Amnesty activists up and down the UK and across the globe start our annual Write for Rights campaign. This is made up of a range of solidarity campaigns to let prisoners of conscience and human rights defenders know they are in our thoughts, as well as some of Amnesty’s usual actions on important cases around the globe. The Amnesty Blackheath and Greenwich group will be inviting you to join us on Sunday 7 December at Greenwich Market (full details at a later date).
Cases this year include Liu Ping who in June 2014 in China was sentenced to six and a half years in jail. She is a prisoner of conscience and should be released immediately. To find out more about the Write for Rights campaign and how you can take action online please click here.
