Peaceful Demonstration to be held at Turkish Embassy

The Amnesty UK Country Coordinators for Europe are organising a demonstration

It will be held in commemoration of the Gezi Park demonstrations which started in June 2013. The focus will be on justice for the victims of police violence and for freedom of expression

Venue: Turkish embassy, 43 Belgrave Square, London SW1X 8PA. (nearest tube: Hyde Park Corner)
Date: Thursday 12 June 2014
Time: 1 – 2pm
Materials: People should try to wear dark/sunglasses (symbolic of some of the injuries) and / or a gag (the attack on freedom of expression) – and an Amnesty International T-shirt, if they have one, or an AI sticker if possible. There will be some placards for people to hold. If people want to bring their own placard, I suggest wording “We remember Gezi Park” and “Freedom of expression for Turkey”.
